Day 7 Up the Mountain

I have drunk the last of my Chinese herbs at 8:07. The crew that will take us to the top sang to us. We will all pray together before we leave around 5 am. The Daily Word mentioned “backpack” and was very apropos. It is cold here for sure and we have been advised to sleep in almost everything we plan to wear. It will stay cold now, not so much heating up enough to strip layers as we go.
We will need great perseverance to make it the final push to the top. But they have assigned a porter to each of us. We are as ready as we can be.
Up to pee 1:43am and sensing some trepidation in the group. Both Bryan, 77 and Gail, 72, are worried about being strong enough to do this….they are inspirations.
I am nervous too, about the breathing, but I know I can, I have met this challenge and I have expanded my capabilities.
It is crystal clear cold up here at over 5,300m.
